Struggle and Success

Students will create a symbol with white sculpey for an important leader in their life while researching the life of that person

Learning Objectives
  • Extend schema for specific vocabulary words that connect to various kinds of leaders
  • Understand how struggle shaped the leaders' lives
  • Learn about inspiring people's lives
Performance Task
  • Students will identify a leader (role model) from his/her native country who has had a positive influence on society in order to create a monument  that represents the struggle and success of this person. This can be a family member or a famous person.
  • Students will write a paragraph about the leader that includes the leader’s name, country of origin, lifespan, their accomplishments and why he/she is important. (who, where, when, what, why)
